Through these amazing flower arrangements, you can make the environment pleasing for you and others. Even more beautiful thing about flower arrangements is that flowers look beautiful in any pattern and so, it’s easy to learn arranging them and there is a very less chance of mistakes. Here are some basic flower arrangement tips.
1. Basic Components
Every flower arrangement contains a main attractive part or an artistic display which is made of flowers known as Ornamental Flowers. Some examples of these are roses and daisies.
A flower arrangement also has to have a background which is usually made using greenery known as Foliage.
Empty spaces in a flower arrangement are filled with fillers.
However, you don’t need to use all these three to create a lovely flower arrangement. Even if you only use ornamental flowers, you can create a stunning arrangement.
2. Keep Them in Water
To keep flowers fresh, keep them in water as soon as you bring them home. Add tepid water to buckets and add floral preservative to it. Then put flowers in it.
3. Cut Stems
If you are going to arrange the flowers after a while, cut an inch off the stems with a sharp knife. Such cut stems will absorb water better.
4. Use Warm Water
It’s because if the water is warm, it helps closed flower heads like ranunculus or roses to open up fully. So, it’s better to keep the flowers in warm water for a couple of days before arranging them for display.
5. Make Use of Foam
Florist’s foam is very useful to keep flowers in place and last longer being constantly hydrated. Just let the foam absorb water for 15 minutes and then cut it to fit the vase. Pour water on it every couple of days.
6. Recut Stems
Just before you add the flowers to your arrangement, recut the stems. Also strip off any leaves if they will go below the water level.
7. Choosing Flowers
Choose flowers of various shapes and stem lengths for your arrangement. First use large flowers to ensure even placement. Smaller, airier blooms should be filled in empty spaces. Leave sufficient space between stems so as to let individual flowers get a room to shine.
Once you learn these basics, you can use your own creativity and make gorgeous flower arrangements that will amaze you and others.
